Desperate times call for desperate measures.  You know that I am the opposite of crafty.  Yes, yes, I know I posted all sorts of pictures a week or so ago of the tutus I made with my bare hands…but seriously…all it involved was cutting and tying knots.  And to be completely forthcoming, my pointer finger was numb for a week from all of that cutting.  So clearly craftiness is not my forte.  I’m much more inclined to just buy what I need.  It allows me to get things when I want them and exactly how I want them.  I could shop every day.  Seriously.

Anyway…as I said…desperate times.  We are in the midst of a super top secret house project right now.  More on that later.  But we’ve put our almost finished bathroom on hold to do a quick revamp of a couple of rooms.  The thing is this.  I want everything to be perfect and look completely put together.  Wall art has to be a part of that.  I mean…HAS TO.

The challenge is twofold.  A for one, I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for.  I want something fresh, colorful, and lovely.  There are options at Target that are relatively cheap that would “do the trick.”  But I’m not really interested in simply “doing the trick.”  If we’re going to do this…we need to really do this and do it right.  B for two, I’m not very enthusiastic about spending the money on things that aren’t what I really want simply to get it done.

So I did something I’ve never done before.  I Googled “DIY wall decor.”  I’m not kidding when I say that it may be the first time I’ve ever typed DIY in my lifetime.  Oh.  My.  God.  The ideas that are out there are ridiculous!  Who are these people that have the time to think this sh-t up?  Seriously.

The upshot is this.  While all of you are enjoying cold beers, barbecues, boating, the great outdoors, and fireworks, I will be the one in my basement making wall art.  For the next four days.  God help us.  And if it turns out well?  I may go crazy with our entire house because wall decor really makes a difference doesn’t it?

Who knew you could do so much with tissue paper?!  Unbelievable.

TODAY:  What if I go against my nature and make the things that will top off our super top secret house project?
